Abstract
The jointly authored contribution by Ugo Di Furia and Francesco Nocerino reconstructs the figure of Domenico Battaglia, a nineteenth-century Neapolitan painter specializing in sacred interiors, highlighting his relationship with music. Through an analysis of his works, the essay interprets the paintings as valuable historical-artistic and organological evidence, documenting instruments, performance practices, and liturgical contexts that have partly disappeared.
