Abstract
The essay analyses the role of Florestano Rossomandi in the development of symphonic concerts in late nineteenth-century Naples. Drawing on contemporary sources, Pier Paolo De Martino shows how the pianist and teacher, heir to Martucci, promoted innovative orchestral series, fostering the dissemination of the European repertoire and the formation of a modern concert-going public.
