Abstract

Paolo Sullo’s contribution investigates the development of solfeggio in Italy during the nineteenth century. Through an analysis of documentary sources – from early instructional manuals to testimonies published in the contemporary press – the author reconstructs the process by which the didactic use of this discipline was defined, detailing the learning practices and methodological approaches adopted in this period.
